Coach Boeyink's Bio

The Iowa Lightning will be coached in 2004 by Gary Boeyink, former women’s head basketball coach at Central College in Pella, Iowa.  Coach Boeyink is an exceptional coach whose credentials include compiling a 399-286 career record at Central and guiding the Dutch to the 1993 NCAA Div. III championship.  Under Boeyink, Central won a share of Iowa Conference titles in 1983, 1985, 1995 and 1998, while taking outright crowns in 1993 and 1994. The Dutch reached the NCAA Div. III playoffs in 1983, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1998.  He was named regional coach of the year in 1985 and was tabbed Div. III coach of the year in 1993 by Basketball Gazette.  Coach Boeyink brings to the Iowa Lightning a wealth of experience and expertises that will help the Lightning players further hone their skills for their high school teams as well as prepare their skills for the collegiate level.
